1-6 AUTOMATED FLOOD MONITORING SYSTEM ON RAILWAY DUCKERS
Abstract
This article investigates the prevention of water flooding and clogging in culverts and inverted sifons passing under railway embankments. Within the scope of the research, a structural design of a multi-stage automated monitoring system was developed to control the water level in the inlet-outlet wells and the hydraulic pressure inside the pipe in real-time. The system emergency alarms and automatically closing inlet gates during emergency situations. The proposed solution contributes to increasing the seismic and hydrological stability of railway embankments.
Keywords: inverted siphon, culvert, flooding, ultrasonic sensor, railway embankment, hydraulic pressure.
INTRODUCTION
In ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of railway transport infrastructure, the hydraulic regime of man-made structures, specifically culverts and ducks passing under the earthen embankment, is of great importance.
