1-5 EFFICIENCY OF OVAL SUPPORT WALLS IN ENSURING THE SEISMIC STABILITY OF RAILWAY STRUCTURES
Abstract
This article investigates issues of increasing the stability of railway embankments in seismically active regions. The disadvantages of traditional rectangular retaining walls are analyzed, and the use of innovative oval-shaped structures is proposed instead. Based on the results of digital modeling conducted in the Midas GTS NX software package, the stress-strain state of the oval walls was assessed. The results showed that the oval shape effectively distributes soil pressure due to the "arc effect."
